Two More Yoga Bags

Two more yoga bags--the last of the smaller 19 inch ones.
I love the colors and combinations.

Finishing Kathy's Quilt

The quilt is out of the washer after a 10 minute soak with no detergent or soap and a short cycle to spin it dry.  Note the lint everywhere!

This is nothing compared to what happens in the dryer.

A look back inside the washer.  Let the lint dry and you can pick it up with a
paper towel or used dryer sheet.  It won't appear on your next load!

Check the lint trap after 5 minutes of drying.  You will find this amount of lint.

Continue to check the lint trap after 10 more minutes and then 15 more minutes and you will be able to remove balls of lint about this size each time.  I take it outside and shake it after a half hour and continue to dry the quilt until soft and fluffy.  I sometimes need to use a lint roller --or even the vacuum--on the quilt before wrapping it up and presenting it to someone.  I usually warn them that it will shed lint for a short time with use, but should be lint-free soon.  Kathy loved hers--lint and all!

Easter Card Variation

I used the little chick and the broken egg shell die to make a variation of the previous design.

and the inside continues the motif.

Freshen Up for Easter

I added a few iris to last week's floral arrangement to freshen it up for Easter week.

I took it apart and washed the leaf that covers the stems inside the vase.  I cut all the stems about an inch and repositioned all the blooms and fillers into the clean vase.  I only discarded one yellow bloom that never did well.  It's very colorful now!  Don't need a basket of Easter eggs to feel like spring...

Some New Cards for Spring

A little chick fresh from his broken shell greets you with a spring bud. Ticket corners on the green  polka dot paper. Green rick rack to brighten the message (Martha Stewart punch) and white dots on the scallops to tie in the eggshell and the message.  Bud made with Stampin' Up small bird punch--the wings!  Sent to my grandsons for Easter this week.

Another bud and a Bird Sanctuary birdcage die cut from Spellbinders inspired this card.  Or maybe it was the little ceramic bird on my hutch...

Who will get this one?

New Fabrics for Yoga Bags

Just received from fabricworm a new shipment of earthy-toned fabrics from the Parson Gray Curious Nature line by David Butler. The 100% cotton fabrics include:
Starcomb Silver
French Quarter Sand
Dimitri Vines Royalty
Starcomb Stones
Empire Mark Forest
Coral Reef Pines
Dimitri Vines Pines
Cocoons Brush
Looking forward to mixing and matching these patterns to make the new, larger yoga mat bag.

New Yoga Bag Design

By request, I added some trim, D-rings and another pocket to the yoga bag design.  I used three coordinating materials to add a strip on the strap with a D-ring for keys or a water bottle.

The lining became a trim on the upper opening and on the big pocket.

Another pocket was added below the shortened, middle pocket. These pockets are good for cell phone, sunglasses or wallet.  There is a second D-ring at the top edge of one of the long pockets where a water bottle can be inserted.

This was the last yoga bag that was cut at 19 inches.  Now I'll be making bags 23 inches around for thicker, premium grade Manduka or Jade yoga mats.  And I'm going to use earthier tones from the Parson Gray Curious Nature fabric line by David Butler, Amy's husband.
